Alk driving me crazy

    i'm going to tag onto this if that's appropriate. the link given shows how to correct ca/alk problems, but i don't understand how my alk seems to deplete faster than ca - shouldn't they both deplete equally due to calcification? by example, i just came back from 14 days away from the tank, so wasn't doing my daily b-ionic 2 part during this time, and now my ca is 450 and alk is 6!! (usually 400 and 11). i don't get it, i figured they'd both be low. mg is 1480 (which is down some from 1550).
