algae on my sand

    There is a light brown algae on my sand bed i have no clue what todo. I have a sand sifting star 2 nassarius 9 assorted hermits and 6 Astraea snails and a fighting conch.

    How old is your tank? What size is your tank? What are your water parameter readings? i.e nitrate/nitrite/ammonia/ca/alk/mag/ph. What is your source of water? The more info we have on your tank, the better we'll be able to help :)

    Have you added any new equipment of late? Sound like a diatom bloom and should subside after a week+ Pic's would help :)

    My tank is a 46 bow front it is 5 1/2 months old no new equipment all parameters look good but i dont test magnesium and i use rodi water

    Could be a little cycle or brown cyano. I wouldn't stress too much about it

    Diatoms, they'll go away as they feed off the silicates.
