There is a little algae on a few of the tips of my green birdsnest.

Not really sure why its there, but it is. There is a TON of flow hitting the birdsnest so its kinda weird.

Anyways here's a pic. I cant really reach this part of the coral to remove the algae so will it go away on its own? Will it cause any problems for the coral?

    Thanks everyone!!

When GHA sits/stays on coral it can cause death on that section. Especially with birds nests, I would see if you can take a turkey baster and force the algae off.

Oh that doesn't look like a happy birdsnest at all; polyps are all retracted.

What's a ton of flow? If it's a really excessive, you could cause polyp retraction and even tissue recession. The algae will only grow on the skeleton, meaning where you see GHA the coral has already lost it's tissue. If excessive flow isn't the problem, then surely your water quality is. What are your parameters?

Maybe it was a bad pic. The coral has full polyp extension and grows super fast.

    Here's a better pic.

Parameters are perfect with no fluctuations.

I did a water change today and used a turkey baster to blow off the algae. The coral is looking much happier now.

    thanks everyone

What are your phosphates? That's what causes GHA

    phosphates are reading near zero.

Looks like the hair algae maybe blew onto the coral?

    Anyways its good now

I politely disagree. If it had full polyp extension, it would look like this:

    I'm still questioning overabundant flow.
