Perfectly normal and should get worse before it gets better but should eventually cease!
Best of luck with the tank!

I'm actually hoping for my green algae to start coming back stronger again. The hermits have been keeping the rocks too clean, and there isn't enough for the blenny now. Now the blenny sits on top of the blue tang's veggie clip and waits for me to add fresh seaweed.

Hey im going through the cycle too and am also about three weeks into it. I haven't been running my lights for about the last week and I am not having problems with algae... I cleaned the glass and the top of the live sand and removed as much of it as I could and then havent been running my lights and haven't had the problem with it coming back yet. I do run my lunar lights but nothing else...Bill....

That is just the start. It will get much worse. Get some hermets ready. 1 per 5 gallons is a good ratio.

Nothing more frustrating than an algae bloom! Ruins your nice view, I spend hours in fron of my tanks letting the blood pressure drop and easing my mind (I have a son in the Marine Corps fighting in Afghanistan). I can say this, if you want to wave goodbye to any algae bloom, the people at garf.org have the cleaners for it. I had a green algae bloom in a tank and their cleaners detroyed it in 3 days. That web site is also a wealth of info on everything in reef tanks.
