    When they die or are harmed do they release toxins?
    I hurt one it's spewing out stuff and I took out the rock. Is it safe to put it back in? If not what should I do

    Define "hurt"? It might be releasing clones of itself. Which would be really bad in a tank, unless you really like the look of aiptasia.

    As far as I know, they don't release anything chemical.

    However, you do NOT want to remove them that way. If they feel threatened, you'll see a population explosion as you'll cause them to multiple in the manner pictured above. Cutting or pulling them off will only make things worse. Use something designed for them, such as Joe's Juice or Aiptasia X. There's a lot of threads around here regarding their elimination.

    any part of the torn up anemone can grow another, when you cut or press it it release's zoothanthellae nothing harmful like zooas. James

    they can kill a lot of different coral, they must be eradicated from your reef, one can grow hundreds with no problem, they can make reef keeping unenjoyable. James
