    I've got an 18 watt normal ouput flourescent light om my refugium 24/7 with no heat implications!

    ^^^ Well there you go, I'd think normal flo's would work if the depth of the refugium is not too deep.

    Heat isn't really an issue YET. I was just trying to figure out the best overall light source to maintain good algae growth and what not.

    Thanks for the link Matt! I think I will go with the flourescent that I have for now. If it doesn't do well I'll try something else. Fuge depth is about 18".
