Actinic and Day light bulbs

I think Geologeek may be referring to phosphourescence? When they glow after lights out?

While you can get fluorescence with the actinic lights, I don't think the animals have phosphorus in them which would cause them to 'glow'

If i could just hijack this thread.....BL that was what i was getting at, i was thinking along the lines of the lights in night clubs that show very clearly any white....and i always leave paper in my pockets when i wash my clothes!

getting onto red lighting what do people use? can you use bulbs designed for photo labs? or are they coloured florecents.

my spelling has always been bad sorry!
