    Just a little update.
They are still doing good, and the female is about to have more fry.

The strainer of my maxi-jet got knock off, and my male molly got sucked to the inlet. He’s not dead yet, but he’s missing his side, and he cant swim anymore. There’s a 99% chance he will be dead within the next 30 minutes.

I would love to revive this topic or restart it.
I have a regular black Mollie male and a female black lyretail Mollie in my tank and they are doing great. The male spends a ton of time under my large foxface picking at his gills and fins cleaning him ... And the female is now pregnant.
I like the look of black mollies against the black background with black sand. And they do eat any algae that tries to grow.
They couldnt seem to care any less about the salinity... I keep my tank at 1.024 sg. They love it from what I can tell, the male used to be in one of my FW tanks and was lethargic in freshwater for all the months I had him. Now he is a ball of energy in saltwater.

Yep, just one more brackish fish that gets sold as "freshwater" for the sake of convenience. They're actually from the coastal regions of Central and South America and are often found in the ocean along the shoreline. IMOPE they adapt quite easily and thrive better in salt rather than freshwater.
