    I have, my chalices are not in spots where they can attack other corals now. I did have one near a birdsnest and it did attack it. It never seemed to do damage unless the distance was around 1/2"

    I had the same issue and re-scaped the tank to give thee echinata more room. It's simply a beautiful piece.

    I've got a couple echinatas that zap things from time to time. They do it very quickly/swiftly too. Anything that's downstream isn't safe... :)

    I haven't lost anything to them, but I've definitely had them take 1/4 of something out. Last incident was last week when one took out 2-3 polyps of a dragon soul.... :( I turned the now ugly side to the back of the tank. Sigh.

    yeah, as of today that part of the cap is dead as can be. bleached white. I guess I will just snap it off...
