I have two softies in my tank right now. A kenya tree that's about 6-8" tall and a toadstool that's about the size of a quarter. My tank is a mixed reef with mostly LPS and a few SPS and zoas. I'm also running carbon and was wondering at what size most people start noticing chemical issues with softies in a mixed reef? I don't want it to sneak up one me one day. The tank is 29gal.

Just keep running carbon, and keep it fresh (change every other week), and you won't have any issues.

+1 on the carbon. just be sure that you replace the carbon frequently.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
If you are going for a sps dominated tank or even partly I would consider getting rid of the leathers. Time and time again I tried them with sps and it never worked in a nano. JM2C
