yeah i agree with buying just one small head of some crazy colors..

    acans for the most are slow growers but it will better in the long run..it doesnt take long for new heads to start but it takes a while for them to be big and poofy..

    i would rather have 3 heads of some different super ultra acans than buy a 15 head colony of some bland colors..

    and if you have moonlights the more colorful the better, but thats in every case

    Faster if you feed them too.

    But I've got too much stuff to feed, so I don't target feed all that often.

    I just got a Black Widow Acan Lord from Unique Corals.
What, no picture?::)

    Buyers Hint: Save money by buying smaller frags, as opposed to things labeled as "colonies". Give them a few months, but frags will reach a nice size eventually.
Thanks for the hint. I only have a 12 gal so I only buy frags anyway.;)

    The one I've been looking at has about 3-4 heads, it's a purple/blue with white stripes kinda, and it's about 30$. It's tenticles are out every time I have seen it.

    Thanks for all the help!! I HATE not knowing how to buy something. Then get it home and find out it's near death or looks awful!

    Pics are coming...when my camera gets here. Have I mentioned today how much I hate FedEx? Plus the corals arrived this morning...still getting acclimated.

    sadie just take a pic of what you want and we can decide the health..

    a bad acan hardly looks like a coral or acan..hope that makes sense..

    you prolly will be able to tell whether the coral is in bad shape..

    I posted a bunch of pics of what you should look for in acans on the first page. I think everyone just missed them, since you guys are talking about it like a text description is going to do a better job explaining.

    Those are great pics. You're tank is amazing. What is that coral on the left that looks like it is dripping off the rock? It so so cool.

    And what is that coral on the bottom all the way to the right that looks like a bunch of cauliflower? That thing is cool too.

    Thanks again for the help.
