    To start... I don't do drugs...;D

A few last weeks ago, I notice someone burrowing under a rock, first he pulled a spare shell in to block and then started pushing the sand out...
I though maybe another type of crab, one of the shrimp, or I actually had a mantis hitch hiker or something???
    I thought - "Hu - Weird"
Last night I see - Him???
I took my flash light to see If I could see who might be under there...
It was soft bodied and what I see 1 1/2 inch wide - wrapped on the underside of the rock... when I flash the flash light on him he slithered <?> back under the rock...
his movement was like how octopus move - how they roll almost...

He was fairly flat bodies and a lighter beige with brown spot's...

He is a hitch hiker but what?
    Any suggestions to google?

it wouldnt be the first time an octopus has hitchhiked. There was a thread on here from someone about 6 months ago who had a hitch hiked octo. He ended up keeping it if i remember correctly.

Actually, it happens quite often. They just don't usually survive the cycle and no one knows they even had one.

He sounds mantis-like. Jwin's mantis will pull in shells to block her burrow opening and will push sand out. Her movements around rocks can be almost rolling like also, but she definitely has a shell. She is a smasher mantis (versus a slasher - sounds like a horror movie). At first, I couldn't hear the "clinking sounds" when she was banging on rocks, digging her tunnels. Justin could - but he's a lot younger than me! As she's grown bigger, I can hear the sounds now. It will be interesting to see what it turns out to be!
