A List of Good Beginner Fish

This is a great guide, is it possible to update it with pictures though?

 

The only reason I won't get one is because I have shrimp. And as far as I know those guys will eat shrimps. They are sooooo cool though, I watched one for 20 minutes at my LFS. Wanted it bad.

 

I have that problem too, only that my Pseudochromis killed one fish, my firefish goby. I hate that sucker now, but wife refuses to give him up, unless I take it back to the store..... problem is, they won't take it back. One store does buy fish if you take it there, but they'll give you 2 pennies for them... so... I know the dilemma you're having.

I would try to take it back to the store if I was you. Or put it in your sump if you have one.

I'm just about to start building my sump, so I may put him in there.

I love this post! I wish all pet stores and fish stores would use this as a learning tool, especially the person that does the fish orders in each store. Hell, it should be required by law.

I have heard about flame hawks picking on inverts, b/c other hawkfish certainly do. My friend had one for years, and he was pretty good around them though, you may luck out with yours. Definitely a cool fish, he used to just hop around the rocks all day, would never catch him swimming in the open.
