I am looking for a solution to a problem with a goldfish that sits on the bottom of the tank but is still eating. His feces are white. Suspect a problem with digestion. Tried Metronidazole. No growth on scales visible. His swimming is not very steady. Any ideas out there on how to treat? He is isolated from the main tank currently. The main tank is 55 gallons and has six other large goldfish. This fish is about 7 inches long.

Try feeding peas to get some fiber in the diet.

White stringy poop is usually a sign of a internal parasite. Maybe try treating for parasites.

    goldfish problem

The goldfish in question died. What is suggested for parasite problem since other fish may have it too?

    Thanks
