A first look at the 2014 Cad Lights PLS Skimmer Line

For 2014, the new line of Cad Lights PLS protein skimmers, now in the third generation, will be a nice option for reefers with tight sumps or those just looking for a quiet, high-capacity skimmer. The first to arrive are the PLS-100 and the PLS-150. Both feature tension stop locks that address all the issues I had with the original design from adjustment difficulties to buoyancy problems with the skimmer body. And the PLS-150 allows you to get all the way inside the tube for thorough cleaning. All good stuff in a simplified design that actually creates longer contact time for higher capacity. If you need a skimmer with a small footprint, now is the time to take a serious look at Cad Lights.

Highlighted features:

* Stop locks on the bottom that prevents the customer from over turning or under turning the body. meaning the holes now will Always be aligned perfectly even if the customer tries to turn too much, the locks will stop him from doing so. this feature makes the new PLS skimmers suitable for everyone to use, even if it is their first time.

* Stop locks 2nd use. it securely clamps down the top body and the lower base, prevents the top from "separating" or "Rising" from the bottom in high water level applications or high buoyancy systems.

* Stop locks 3rd function. Complete control of our Pipeless technology. Tension lock adjustment. you can now freely tighten or loosen the tension locks to adjust the "turn tension". meaning you can make the turns tighter by tightening the Red flower or white knob. or looser by loosening the red flower or white knob.

* Special Features for PLS-150 (Cone). larger Cone body gives higher dwell time giving you an increased filtering capacity. the center body can also be dis-assembled so the customer can have full access to clean the inside and all of its areas.

Bottom drain (PLS-150): this feature forces the water to go through the bottom of the skimmer and utilizes the ENTIRE reaction body and has the best micro-bubble elimination ever designed so far.
