If I read that right, you have 4 clowns and a maroon clown left? Meaning with the 2 that passed you at one point had 6 clowns plus the maroon? That is a ton of clowns. They are very territorial and do not play well with other clowns. Maroons are also very aggressive IME. That may have played a part in the demise of your clowns.

the tomato clown has not been aggressive. But the orignal clowns that have been in the tank the longes have been. But they are the ones that are dieing. Not the new clowns. I would agree with tomenny clowns if it was the new ones that were dieing but they are not. The new ones are not the aggressive ones in fact I would say they are getting beaten up buy the old one that passed this morning the most.

I suggest getting rid of the crabs and getting a crab free quick clean up crew from reefcleaners. Go with a 50ish gallon crew, as John sends more than he lists. You will be surprised by how many snails there are! The crew has nassarius snails that are carnivores and will clean the sand bed, the dwarf ceriths will take care of your the nooks in your rocks, the larger ceriths will eat the larger algae (they are doing a great job with my hair algae!), and the nerites will eat the micro algae off the rocks and glass.

    Just a suggestion :)

6 snail isn't going to do it you are going to need dozens and dozens to be effect IMO look at reefcleaners, I have always been happy with what I got there. What crabs do you have? If they eat the clean up crew maybe time to get rid of them?

    crab

This is one of the three crabs that I have in the tank. Took the pic with the powder blue in it for a size. The powder blue is the largest fish in the tank.
