I wonder if you could make it so that the material the algae grows on(not sure what it s called) is sort of floating in the water movement (but still attached)? This should get the flow rate you want... Or would that cause algae growth within the sump too?

I am not sure what you are saying. The white screen is submerged in the water by about 1/2". What I need to do is measure the amount of water that gets pumped through it to make sure it is getting adequate flow. I think to do this I am going to drain the fuge area and then turn the pump back on and measure how fast the fuge area fills to get the gph.

I understand now though. That sounds like a good idea.

I was looking back through and I notice it has been a while since I did a FTS so I took some pictures yesterday of the tanks current state. The Monti's I got are doing great the green one is getting its purple rim back and the orange ones look to be growing already. Along with my Zoas and Frogspawn, I also recently changed out one of the 10k bulbs for antoher Antic.

    So here are some pics.

Thanks, Those Trumpets where the only thing to survive the Stealth Heater Nuke. They are coming back slowly. I think I need to get an urchin or something to start working on the red turf algae?
