No nitrate problems. This is another type of filtration. It does more the just that.

Well I finally got my ATS up and running for the most part. I had to order some special fittings to complete the build the way I wanted it. The PVC tee's that were at the bottom of the scrubber are now replaced with 4 way tee's so that way when I detach the scrubber from up top the upright supports don't just fall over.

It was a little tricky getting it to fit into the sump with how tall it is but since the bottom half of it is just dry fitted I just slipped it apart and reassembled in the sump.

    Pictures.

I don't know if I should paint the piping black to match the rest of the outer piping or leave it white to match the inside of the sump?

ATS are prtty cool though. Are you worried about it competing with your fuge for nutrients? I know they aren't quite the same thing though. I guess it shouldn't be a nig deal.

And there in lies the problem! LOL. I will see it. :D No one would have seen the paint that chipped away on the frame but I did and repainted the whole thing! I am CRAZY. :loco:

It will actually be replacing my fuge I had some cheato in there before but it just dwindled away so I came up with this instead because of all the other benefits it has.

I am setting up a fuge as a nutrient export source, but also to maintain a good copepod population. If I a not happy with it's results of exporting nutrients, then I may switch to an ATS.

That is another great thing about an ATS it grows pods like crazy and without a filter sock holding you back and trapping/killing them they can really thrive.

Well this will be day 3 of the scrubber. I already have growth but I still need to fine tune the system I still have to add a second light and brackets to mount on the underside of my stand to clamp the light to. I also have to figure out the exact amount of flow going through the system to get 35 gpm over each 1" span so 350 gph.
