A few post back you can see some images of the screen I am going to use this will be used to keep fish from jumping out. I don't like the idea of using glass to keep fish in because it will trap heat under it from the lights raising you tank temp. It will also hinder the oxygen exchange that could be happening over the top. Also the glass will get salt creep build up on it blocking light from passing through if you get a chance get the screen like I used it will work out better for ya. I will be working on that soon enough when I get some free time.

did you use a diy to do the plumbing or did you already know how?

Hey! I have just finished reading this thread, nice build going on! I really enjoyed it! Recently I got a hold of 90 gallon (standard) off CL. I will be following as you did such as:
    -Bean Animal with painted PVC
    -Coast to coast internal overflow
I might ask you when I have questions in near future :)

I built all the plumbing it is based off the BEAN Animal overflow system a fail safe and silent overflow design. Then the overflow box is call a Calfo which is a coast to coast box.

BeanAnimal's Bar and Grill - Silent and Fail-Safe Overflow System

Sounds good glad I could be of help let me know if you have any questions. Stock up on the paint lol... that was probably one of the more time consuming parts of the build but I think it was well worth it.

I have an update coming once I get some time to take some pictures I have been testing the BEAN system for fail safeness and it has been working very well! (dang snails, and clownfish)

I have one concern for now tho about the C2C oveflowbox, do animals go over the weir by any chance? You dont see any problem?
And how much space is there between the bottom of the siphon (main) inlet and the bottom of the overflow box in case I missed this?

With my C2C overflow I have had animals go over the weir. One time a clown went over and got sucked down to the sump he was okay just a little roughed up by the filter sock. I also have snails going through the pipe pretty often since I have such a large CUC they are go in and out of the overflow box the only time I have problems with this is when they decide that 2 or 3 of them will try to get sucked up at once and clog the siphon pipe. So I have had to remove the elbow twice now to get them out of the 90 and let water flow normal again. However there were no problems with that just a little annoying, since the BEAN took over with the open channel.

I am going to be making a guard to go over the inlets of the pipe I am thinking about getting some egg crate and silicone it into the elbow to prevent them from getting sucked up.

I see, it makes sense. Even tho it might restrict the flow a bit, the system has THREE pipes, I dont see they cant handle the flow.

How much space is there between the bottom of the siphon (main) inlet and the bottom of the overflow box?

    Thanks again in advance.

The only issue that comes up when the snails get sucked up is you get a gargle noise from the open channel pipe.

I have about 5/8" from the elbow to the bottom of the glass.
