    What kind of sand is it? Is it the stuff you have half a bucket left over of? Tanks looking good by the way.

    Thanks bud... I ended up taking some out from this orginal picture... I wanted it to be just above the level of the egg crate not to much deep areas.

    looks like a great tank but i would be pretty weary of investing so much into a tank of that shape i love the idea but strength wise i wonder how its going to hold up

    No it isn't this is a course grain the stuff I have left over is about 1/4 the grain size.

    Well I shall see thanks for worrying me though. ;) I just recently took out a $300,000 renters policy specificly for water damage from my aquarium.

    Not to sure how to describe it it is like a fine crushed coral or a thick fiji pink sand. I will try to get some detailed pictures with a pen for size reference.

    Thank you. I really don't like CC because of all the detritus and nitrates it traps up. Well now I have the exact opposite problem with dry aragonite - sugar sized. lol. It creates a sand storm without any fish in it yet - when I use the magfloat on the glass near the sandbed.

    That is what I wanted to stay away from as well I think with this choice it will be perfect.
