    ATO's where too confusing for me to handle. And I have heard some really bad instances of them back-siphoning.

    Good choice. I have the double version. It has worked flawlessly for a year and a half now.

    Confusing?

    Just keep the line out of your sump water and there is no back siphon.

    Also keep the ATO lower than the sump or at the same level and it won't siphon from the ATO into the sump, either.
