That looks really good. I like those rocks. What do you plan to do for the back of the tank? Paint, acrylic sheet, etc? A deep blue color would really make everything stand out :) Not to mention it will hide the overflow and cords.

Thanks for the compliments guys!! I think I really like it - I don't plan on moving anything. So that means it's pretty much time for some water! ;D

I actually totally forgot about a background, lol. I think I'll just go with a sheet, even though it doesn't look as nice as paint I like the option of removing it when I want. And I think blue would look awesome!

i got some of that film paper they sell at the fish stores and cut it down to size and put it up. its nice because it has one deep blue color on one side and black on the other. i personally went with all black because my built-in overflow had a black cover. it really stood out funny against the blue. in your case though a deep oceanic blue color would work perfectly as you have a HOB overflow and nothing else to really hide.

looking good. i hope the sump works out for you. i know you said its 'complicated' but its really not all that bad if you plan it out and have the right tools for the job.

i know the first baffle i put in my sump was crappily done :) so i ripped em out and did em the book method and they're all straight now.

now building a 40gal sump... still cleaning it up though its pretty nasty.
