    That's a bummer kc, one reason I have never tried to build one myself. I would not know where to begin :eek:

    You can save all sorts of money building your own sump.

    Watch some videos, Limpits Reef has good video tutorials, and melevsreef.com is also helpful. Make sure you get that skimmer section sized correctly (water height / section width). It's pretty simple once you get the hang of it.

    Thanks Zach. I'm having issues getting the baffles to stay put. The silicone is taking forever to dry and they keep moving...ugh! Annoying.

    use tape masking tape and let the areas with out tape dry then remove the tape and then do those areas books help a lot too oh yeah even cd cases hope it help

    Oh, tapes a good idea. I didn't think about that. I stuffed some cardboard
    underneath some of them....but the silicone is very sloppy!

    No judging when you see the pictures!!

    you can stack books in there too to hold it in place... im about to start a build thread for my 40gal that i picked up last night ;)

    Okay, yay! Got my sand and rocks in. Tell me what you think of the aqua scape. I do plan on having corals and I made sure to make lots of little caves for the fish. Thanks!!
