Well....even though I personally like the blue background better, I think I might do black, because some of the fish I'm thinking about getting are blue/have blue markings, and they wouldn't stand out very much against the blue background...does that make sense?

I'm not positive....but I'll figure it out by the time I get some fish!

exactly one of the reasons i went black. i have a blue and a blue/yellow-tail damsel and with the blue background they were hardly distinguished unless swimming in front of a rock

and hey, once you go black you never go back!

lol. yep! I was worried the black would be too dark, but I think with my super bright lights it will be okay. I'll just have to try it and see!

Hahaha it's not a decision I'm exactly happy with! But it seems to make the most sense. I want a bellus angel (female) which has blue markings, and a hippo tang, which obviously is blue....so I just think the black would help the fish stand out more.

its a good idea.. Plus it hides anything that you might have to put in the tank such as your koralias or lets say you needed to put your heater in there..

So I tested my water, just pH and ammonia. pH was perfect 8.2. Weird though, there was already some ammonia! It was .25ppm. Could it be cycling already? There's only twenty pounds live sand in there....and the water has been in for two days.

It is quite possible kacy if you used "live" sand for the die off to start the cycle.

:D Go black. the 46 and 120 are in black.
