If my tap water parameters are good and I have about 80 TDS coming out of it could I get away with running a large bag of carbon in the mix when I make my water up?

Well first off 80 TDS isn't good. Also do you know what makes up that 80?? Is it phosphates, is it silicates? Its not so much how much is in there but what is in there. I wouldn't risk it.

That's good, but what I'm saying is you don't know what it is. It could be hard metals, iron, copper, etc. Or any number of things you don't want it a tank. And carbon will do nothing to removes those. Its a gamble. Also if anyone had an ro/di unit putting out anywhere near 80 tds they would be changing every filter they had. Its not a good number. Maybe good for tap water, but not for tank water.

I do believe they(BRS) have a discount code, which would be "3reef" if there is one.

I would go with the spectrapure one. it is 145 + shipping. They make the resin mix the time of the order. no sitting around. AZ told me this and I was sold.
