The lights should do the trick! :thumbs_up That stand looks solid! lol You won't have any troubles supporting that tank.

I agree with you there, it could probably hold tanks bigger than the one you built it for so nothing wrong with that!

Um... I really hate to be the person who says this, but with the stand design you have laid forth, you are putting all of the weight fof your tank on the outer rim. this is then held to the posts by bolts? essentially relying on the shear strength of the bolts and screws to hold your tank? This is not the best design for a stand. you would be better to put your 4x4 posts UNDERNEATH the outer rim so that they directly support the weight.

    more along these lines.

here, I used 2x4 on each corner that directly support the frame on the top. using the linear strength of the wood to support the weight vs the screws and bolts.

Just picking this back up. I'm starting to paint the rim and back flat black as the faux wood grain doesn't match the stand I'm using. IMG_0361.JPG IMG_0402.JPG IMG_0358.JPG

I second what pickupman66 said. You can just add 2×4 going along side of 4×4. Think of it like this ine set of bolts break you now have a 4x4 coming through the bottom of the tank.Good looking stand though.

Here is an example with the stand i built. 20160525_173343.jpg

No, from bottom base to top base. Zoom in on this pic and look at the legs of the stand. images (7).jpg
