Hey.. I usually use weld on #3 or #4 will work too..the acrylic is 3/8. But the front panel is 3/4. But that depends on how big of a tank you want. For the thickness...and tools a table saw, router, good saw blades. Diablo makes an excellent one! And some clamps. A square. That's mostly it. Making sure you have a good clean edge to glue is the most important to get a good seam. If you have more questions feel free to ask :)

That tank is coming along great. The craftsmanship looks professional.

Beautiful, but that overflow isn't small?

I hope it works out for the best! Would stink for it to get fixed when it could of been setup correctly the first time.

Why not go ahead and make it bigger now, before the water, so you don't have to worry about it later? Its better to have it too large than too small.

Hi guys i am new to 3reef but my friend pepperdeath was nice enough to start this thread for my new tank.

The overflow is modeled after the 1500 GPH glass holes kit and recommends 500-1000 GPH continuous flow. The max i would be running through this is about 840 GPH so it should be fine. As far as it being an easy fix what he means is that we love working with acrylic and if i ever needed more flow it would just give us a good excuse to make a new one besides we plan on testing it thoroughly before any livestock goes in.
