Thank you. Very gratifying seeing the progress from one branch and quarter size frags. I started with 2 blue mushrooms and 4 red mushrooms too.

It's been a bout a year since I treated my tank for redbugs, but they have now come back again in full force. I haven't added coral in months, so Iam not sure what caused this outbreak. were they dormant in my sand? Did removing it cause an outbreak?

Suggestions on treatment? I can't remove coral. It's encrusting.

I have black bugs on my montipora too.

How int he world did I get these when I haven't added frags in months?

Sentinel for dogs, the newer version of Interceptor. If you dip with Bayer your just going to see them pop up again in a year. Red Bugs do not feed off Monitpora so you have some other type of Arthropod.

My second favorite link after Randy Holmes-Farley.

The ones on the Monti are black.

I'm going with sentinel. A local is getting it for me.

Any temperature changes since taking the sand out?

    There has been.

For one, I switched out the anolog thermostat for a digital one. As such, the house is running a little warmer, as is the tank. The halide has warmed it a bit too.

    It's gone from 75-78 to 78-83

Well you got me to thinking about the diaphase of insects....so after looking at the link I posted and other write ups it appears that some types marine arthropods/crustaceans may have a dormant stage that is influenced by changes in temperature and other variables.

Well darn. The timeframe makes sense.
