I don't have a good nude shot yet, as the tank was a little cloudy from the move and half my lighting (2x T5s were not in action,) but here is the tank in it's new location and with it's new paint job and a blury picture of the interior.

My fish would not stop shaking and bedding in the sand. The tank was constantly couldy and my filter sock constantly full.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
I like it, especially the look of the entire system.

I will be curious to see how you like BB in 3 months. Someone posed the same question to me when I did it, and I now know the reason why.

Well now you have me second guessing myself. I assume yours became littered with organics and covered in coraline? I will say that in mine, there are very, very fine patches of organics/silicates throughout that must have come off the rock or the bottom of my buckets when I fille dit back up, so it's not perfectly clean glass.

    Nope.

Do not second guess yourself you might not experience the same issue or issues. It might work out for you.
BB certainly makes removing detritus from the display much easier, but is that a good thing? What of the normal flora and fauna found or developed in a sand bed, perhaps a lack of certain bacteria types. What I will say is that you look at having a sand bed in a new light perhaps.

As long as my coral survive, I should be happy with the decision. I did notice countless tube worms in my sand that no doubt provided a valuable staple to my system.

I've seen numerous amount of build threads where people go BB. I've just always been curious, I've heard the "easier to clean" part and less trapped detritus.
I know when I move a rock that's been on the substrate for more than a month or two and I lift it up, it's like going into the secret door behind the filing cabinets to find nothing but muck!

Can't wait to see more updated pics and as it matures!

Yep! I had that experience when I removed my rock to go nude.

Went back to the halide after I moved, which was a partial factor in deciding to o move the take into the bigger room near the AC vent and intake. So much better and crisper.
