i can buy a reef octo HOB skimmer for up to 60gal for less then a pump the size i would need. So might just do this. And not plumb them together. Not sure what to do. Ahh

Post the parameters. Exact numbers. Most people are incorrect when they think the numbers are "good" Also, how old are the bulbs. there is no question that will affect the health of the corals.

2 tanks are much harder to care for. You can expect your 2nd tank to get less than half the attention you give your main tank. So I would suggest linking them and focusing on the main system.

Gah. Yea true would probably be better to put them all together.

So here is my build list:
    40B $40: $1/gal sale at petco
    Reef Breeders RGB Led $190:Ebay
    Overflow Kit $70: Glass-holes
    Return plumbing stuff

Going to use my existing siccie 3.0 7** gph to go to the 40. and buy a new maxi-jet 5500 to increase the flow to my 75gal.

Man am i gonna be sucking a lot of electricity! haha

Ok so here is how she will be set up. Just put the stand in place. The 40 breeder will be on top. Then i have a 10gal that is going underneath as my RO/DI reservoir for my ato. ;D

what gph should i run through the 40B? I just feel like there is already 2 much flow through my sump with the 715gph going to my 75 display. So i might split that off and do like 500 to the display and the rest to my 40B. Would that work? or should i do more? idk!

I would split it evenly between the two and use a circulation pump in the frag tank.

So i guess i will have to get the 700gph overflow from glass holes then.
