looks like that sump is never coming out of there, it looks a tight fit. you could put a little shelf above the sump for your test kits, additives, etc. looks like you got the room for it. just a idea.

I can remove the end piece as well if needed, but the sump will come out as it is, but its not easy. so hopefully it lasts forever .lol

can u fit the vortech on the other side of the tank? it would prob look alot cooler if it was on the back wall and nothing was attached to the 3 viewing sides. just a thought

x2 agreed that would be nice. he might have to use a hole saw to make room but definitly a good idea.

The HOB overflow takes up alot of room so it wont fit, but I'm about to start the plumbing so I will see what I can do. I want it on that side too, but havent found a way to make it fit. will update later tonight with pics; maybe you guys will see something that I dont.

thanks for all of the comments and advice along the way. :)

ok, the vortech has to stay where it is. when i put it on the other side it sat too low on the galss because of the HOB overflow, and it would actually pull sand off the bottom and blow it across the tank. being that I'm not going for the sand storm look that wont work.

I did however get it completed and setup, pics should come tomorrow after it clears a bit more.
