yeh i wasnt really posting for the price tag, I just thought it was cool to share because I had never seen, nor heard of such a beautiful dwarf angel. I wonder why they are so rare in nature?

    Absolutely gorgeous.

According to the video it is 300 to 400 feet deep and only in a very remote location.

The depth is the major factor. A recent expedition caught 5 of these, so as to their rarity, I think that may be an illusion. Their seem to have a decent range based of where this last batch came from. I bet in a few years we might even see someone pairing these fish and perhaps even a captive breeding program. I think they are awesome.

IIRC they aren't rare in nature, just found incredibly deep.
IMO there are some dwarves that are rarer in both nature and captivity.

There are less then 5 alive in captivity to this date from my understanding.... I think its actually 1 or 2, as they are extremely hard to take care of and keep alive. They require cooler waters as well so don't think about trying to drop this thing in a reef or even typical FOWLR and have it live either. Oh yeah, they don't do so well with alot of light, and prefer a darker tank unfortunately.

In the wild they aren't extremely rare, but they aren't abundant either. And due to the depth and location they are found in there are very very very few people that are even capable of getting to them let alone bringing them up safe enough to survive long term.

Due to both of the above alone, I wouldn't expect there to be a successful breeding program on these beauties for quite some time, and even then the price would be up there for sure. ;)
