so say if i were to get one urchin, would that be able to replace hermits? lol i think people that come to see my tank would think of a sea urchin being much cooler than hermit crabs

my tank is also about three months old. Ive talked to 20 differnt people who are well experienced in reef systems and its just a stage the tank goes through. I have green hair diatoms all over my and and red cyano (the red hairy looking stuff) in my tank. If you have any where you can place it i would use seagel or phospure to suck up some phosphates. I also do water changes more often to dilute the nutrients the algae feeds on. the tank is just maturing or thats what my LFS and friends have told me.

yea i know that's part of it as well, i just don't want the algaes to get out of hand. I'll look into the seagel and phospure. And water changes are done once a week. thanks for the help :)
