Yes, it was braced. It APPEARS the inital failure was in a lower corner.

This is actually the first failure that has been confirmed as far as we know it from GC. I am not trying to say that this failure is bogus, in fact it seems to actually have clout. Many other stories you hear on the net about GC tanks are either fabricated, or just not even close to being true.

It is easy to say that you have a GC tank that failed on the internet, and then add to the lynch mob, even if you don't have or have even never seen one of their tanks.

I have seen several of them in our club. Big ones too, and the worst I see is a little sloppiness with silicone in the corners.

MIG is good, but about 50% more $$$.

Yeah, one of the things that I'm most upset over is I have been trying for a year to get a Spotted Gar, we obtained one around two months ago. He "bought the farm" when the tank let go. Also, we lost a Black Crappie we have had since we put the tank in service three years ago.

I have a quote coming from Deep Sea Aquatics to replace the tank.

i 100000000% disagree here, i know of a LFS in Ny that had a couple of Glass cages tanks break, and crack and i also know of a couple of people in the hobby who have had this happen so no this is not the first time this has happen.

MIG is worth the extra money and the craftsmenship you get in return cant be touched by GCs

Its real enough to me that I'm going to pull my 180 gal Glass Cages Salt Water tank I have in my living room out of service!
