We have finally broke down and set up a frag tank. Some of the corals we moved out of our QT tank after Tennessee frag swap, but a lot of them have been fragged from corals in our other tanks.

Set up is simple......20g long tank, single layer of elevated egg crate, maxi jet 1200 and a tunze pump, heater, 5 to 10 lbs of rock rubble and a aquatic life skimmer that was modded. We are using a 150w 14k MH. No fish in there as of yet. Will be adding one soon

for those that dont think that corals put out waste, here is our skimmer cup within 1 day after being modded

You have some interesting pieces. Image 6 tunicate?

Among the group I like the blue Zonathids and the Cyphastrea.

    What brand of bulb?

    Thanks Cheryl!
actually no number 6 is a type of leptoseris (I can never remember what it is called so Curt had to ID again!) It is actually one of the more rare types per Curt

Most of the stuff in there right now is LPS type corals as our I wiped out a lot of the sps and they are just starting to grow back now!

We actually have a couple types of cyphastrea. Fortunately these things grow like weeds. We have them in all our tanks right now. That is actually the goal of most of our frags, we want to ensureif something wipes out one tank then we will have frags in another tank

    the bulbs are 14k ushio

    Hmm

I am using the same bulb lol. 14k Ushio. I think I am going to go back to Phoenix next time. Going for the blue again, that bulb held its' color the longest.

I have one tiny frag of Cyphastra I really know nothing about them, glad to hear they grow like weeds.

Back ups of corals is always a good idea.

Interesting about the Leptoseris, I looked at that image like 4 times and could not figure out what it was.

Very interesting corals, they are very nice too look at. Do you sell the frags or grow them out?

We grow them out. When the 120 goes up, they will be larger and they won't just disappear. With that said, we've had to "frag our frags" because some have become too large.
