    LOL no just lucky IMO.

    After thought edit*

If you want to know the truth I can't keep macros alive. Or grasses. All I've had success with is chaeto, halmedia and shaving brush. And my mangroves of course. But in the past two months..
    Calupera prolifera....dead
    palm calupera....dead
    eel grass...dead
    oar grass...dead
a ton of red gracilaria...dead (but apparently bristleworms find this a delicacy)
ulva...dead (again mainly due to the bristleworm imo)

Sounds like you have a healthy philosophy and exactly what good reef husbandry should look like.;D

Wish that were 100% true. I'm VERY bad about not QTing corals. + I was out of Iodine with the last few frags came so I didn't even do the usual bath, just straight into the display. Any new ppl reading DO NOT do this, don't follow my example on introducing new corals, it is very risky and will bite me one day.

hmm I'll probably start an argument but IMO 'Reef Crystals' and any other salt labeled specifically for reefs is as much bs as Excedrin Migraine. They just give it a more appealing name and mark it up.
I don't use just one brand of salt either. I switch brands at every water change. So 2X a month my tank gets a different brand of salt mix. I buy what ever is on sale with the exception of generics. I won't use any of them because they don't mix well.

Sweet growth, I recently learned to set my flow right and now have corals the grow upward instead of thick and short.

I disagree but barely, because that is the formulation change in some brands.
