That means slowly bringing your light schedule back up to the time before the lights were turned off. You could probably cut back to 6 hours and add 1/4 hour a day until you are back to your preferred light schedule which should be no longer than 12 hours and closer to 8 to 10 hours since you are having algae issues. Turbo snails can help in removing what you have while you work on fixing the root cause of the algae growth.
