    so leaving the tank alone will even most stuff out? what about fish waste, leftover food, etc.? why would the water change prolong my cycle? just some newbie questions8)

    during cycling the only thing you need to test is ammonia. if it gets over 1ppm then do a water change. other than that dont do one.

    if you want to test for Ca,Mg,dKH it wouldnt hurt. i suggest 1.026 on salt
