    i have been thinking of upgrading if i upgraded to metal halide would it be ok then for a beginner. i was thinking about getting it to put on the sand, i wanted something on the sand and i hear it does good there is that true

    yeah I agree i like open brain coral and there good also for anyone. My yellow polyps are doing good too. Also is my candy cane coral. they all work for anyone.

    Open brains are great ,but I wouldn't put it on the sand. Check out my open brain in the photo gallery.

    Shrooms were definately a great choice for first, I find that mine usually shrival up at night but when the lights come on, ma do they open up. Check out my pics, there are some nice one of my red/purple shrooms. Polyps are also great as they told you, many varieties and pretty easy to care for. They will also grow kinda wuick if maintained properly.

    I guess im doing everything wrong here.Ive got what i think is a brain on the sand and hes just fine.Reason was that when i target fed him the 2 liter bottle would not seal around him so the food would slip by and get eaten by some other fish.
    Ive also got a plate coral under PCs and hes doing great,always extended.
