    Thanks for the tip. Im leaning towards sweetwater but sherwin williams has a commercial store near by and i believe they sell a product thats made for potable water tanks. im still researching the epoxy solution. far as glass I will order 3/8 think glass....

    Here I ran a bead of wood glue along the 4 seams. I figure it would prevent help leaks. Once I get the wood coated with epoxy i will then apply silicone....

    The entire inside will get coated with about 1/4" thick waterproof epoxy applied in layers that will make the whole box watertight.

    if you come up with a good solution to the expoxy coat lmk im going to be building a small sump out of wood/Plexiglas for my octopus

    I would put filets in the corners of the tank to accept the fibreglass.You could also use polyester resin if your going to gelcoat the inside.Just wet it out real good when applying the first layer of glass.Looks real good and strong! good luck with the build.

    I guess I have to plead ignorance on this. Why do you want a wooden aquarium? You can only see through the front?

    what about inwall aquariums?all you see is the front,people are building some really neat stuff out of plywood.Made me think about it few times too.
