LOL !!! I feel your pain, bro!! This is a never ending hobby.... somehow I put a lot of money in this tank already... money that I shouldn't have spent on it considering my unemployment situation, but still.... there's this frag or this LED or some other thing that "I need to get for the fish" :)

Well... I tell you what though... I'm sure I'll be dazzled the day you say "OK.. I'm happy with my tanks. I have everything I wanted to have in there"... I'm sure it will be more than a jaw dropping tank :)

Keep it up, man! I like the DIY! +K for the time and effort invested and obviously for sharing it with us!

I think the day we'll all say we are happy is when we got a couple 500g reef tanks sitting in our homes.. ;D

Great job night-rida! I enjoyed reading through this and seeing the results. 8)
If you had to do it again, would you use epoxy or stick with screws?

    thanks matt!

Well with only 8 leds, screws weren't to bad. Seeing how Im already handy with a drill, bits, tap, etc. but anymore over 12 leds, I would probly epoxy them down for sure.. It would have saved a good 2 hrs of marking/measureing/drilling/taping holes but with glue but it's permanent.. so placement better be right, or you'll be upset. Also with the 5" spacing and 60 degree lens I did, I'm happy with the coverage with so little amount of these cree leds give on my 4' long tank. I would estimate 12 leds total spaced every 5" would even be enough for even a 6' wide tank looking for actinic supplement..

    So a 4' wide tank would require about 115 LED's? I'm hoping there's a typo in that post. :-/
