I had them higher up before and they seemed worse so I lowered them to about mid way up.
It's on a 5 gallon tank to it should be more than enough

i checked the ammonia like 3 minutes ago and it was at 0
the live rock was wet and there is worms that live on it and ever a few crabs were on it as well.
