A few things here. This thread is pretty old. My fish didn't die, they were moved to my 220 in wall upgrade. You can find my latest build here......
I have a black removable acrylic background. They are large panels with lap strips on the top and bottom that allow me to remove it to clean the back...
The scape looks good, but I am afraid that you may have chose the wrong rock for a saltwater tank.
