I recently had a bout with STN with an Acro. The STN turned into RTN one night so I fragged it. I got 5 nice pieces off the colony. I spread out the pieces throughout my reef and I had the following results.

    1. High light level frag dead within hours.
    2. Mid-light level frag dead by next morning.
    3. Low level light frag STN apparent
    4. Shaded frag no signs of STN or RTN and polyps are showing
    5. Heavily shaded frag no signs of STN or RTN and polyps are fully extended.

The tissue on #4 and #5 is brown but appears as though it is beginning to color up already. I can see areas of color coming back after only a few days.

What have I got my hands on here? Pretty much confused. Thanks

I also should add the Acro started mid level in my aquarium when I first got him. It did not fair well there. I moved him around to several places but 1 thing I believe I have found out for sure is the coral does not enjoy direct light. Any advice would be great. Thanks

you know alot of corals have their own preferences, some like extremely intense light, others like shade and dont do wlel in bright light. you just have to experiment with what works best for the coral.

Thank you. I have been researching and I have been in contact with some people about this coral. I am of the belief I have a Deep Water Speciosa and it should not be getting a lot of light.
