Duncan Corals - Still having trouble !

Duncans require low to moderate lighting and not moderate to high. Duncans, in general, are always open even when the lights are off.

 

mmm this is soo frustrating .. lights off now , and yet again more are out . bit stronger than last night... when the lights are on . i have no luck . im really begining to think that the light is too close to them .

Mine are rarely closed. They are in partial shade at bottom of tank under T5.

 

performed another water change today . nitrates are close to 10 ... maybe another change tomorrow should bring them right down . yet to see any improvemnt with the duncans.

 

Sorry if it was mentioned earlier but did they used to be out all the time? If so, mine went through a phase of about 3 weeks where they never opened up. When they did, there was a new head forming. Maybe something similar is happening, but getting those nitrates down will certainly help things.

 

mmm id say its been 2 -3 weeks with not much visability. although i know heads have split into 2 , and on the sides of the stems there are small little lumps iv noticed which could be production of new ones.

nitrates are pretty low . although i think im going to purchase a new test kit for them
