    IMO - you did mention you lost a fish to an aggressive addition earlier in the week. I had the same issue and almost lost a second fish due to some unruly clowns (now at the lfs) My tang was doing great got a small amount of ich (after QT) then came home he was on his side also.
    I would suggest you observe your tank - aggression is not always nipping it can include flaring, constant shadowing and bumping. It will take it's toll on a tang (even yellow)

    yeah That wasn't what happened or i never saw any of it. My tang and deluctus dottyback have been in the same tank for the last six months so I don't think that was the problem, but something happened. looking at my tank right now and everything is looking and doing good
