Good job on the video. It looks like you have a small power head in the upper left? If it's the one I think it is, you could go bigger like the one coriallline suggested (the 600gph). Hydor also makes a make shift wave maker that would help randomize the flow. Not saying that would cure all that is ailing your tank, but it wouldn't hurt.

 

Increasing flow will assist with the cyanobacteria problem you have, the black and brown spots. You do not have enough flow, consider how much flow these corals have in their wild environment.

Take a the power head you have and aggressively blow off all the rock work, let it settle out and then rinse out the sponges/foam, repeat weekly.

Turn up the LED's slowly and consider a better fixture, judging by the coloration of the Duncan (I think its a Duncan) at the top. Your lighting looks like it would be decent supplemental to a better fixture.

What do you mean about led being a good supplement and about the Duncan? Do you think it is not intense enough? It is currently turned to 60%, was at 50%. At its full intensity it would bleach all of my corals. That happened about 8 month ago when I forgot to adjust the dimmer and left for a week for a vacation.

 

The Duncan and the Candy canes are bleached. Were the other lps added after you turned down the light?

I will go back and see what I can find out about your lighting. You might consider starting a thread with the topic being your fixture to attract either those with the same fixture or relevant information. There seems to be quite few reviews and threads on Reef Central as they are sponsor there. I have looked at other tanks with the fixture and they are much brighter over all. It would optimal if you could get some Par readings.

Being that I am not LED savvy I just do not want to speculate.

 

I spoke with buildmyled.com CEO who thoroughly went over the specs of my tank and the specs of my led and said the light that I have was custom made for my particular tank (and I remember this from a year ago). He also said that the light is actually stronger then my needs are, so I shouldn't have to increase intensity to more then 50% and should get/rent a par meter to verify.

There are many articles and threads on cyanobacteria. Everybody is, or has dealt with at some point. Sounds like yours just slowly got out of hand.

 

Yesterday I purchased a dual brs reactor, and a very large turbo snail (it was knocking corals left and right). Hopefully they'll help

 

I don't know much about running carbon and/or gfo other than the small amount of phosguard that I've been using. It seems like it would help compete for the nutrients that the cyano uses. I would recommend that you try to increase the flow though. That wave maker on your return can also be used on the power head.
