i got a remora aqua c on my 55 gallon. it was working fine with the collecting cup all the way down pulling some gunk out of my water. i added water conditioner to my tank and within an hour my skimmer was just overfoaming and filling the collection cup with water within a half hr. that was a few days ago and the skimmer hasnt calmed down a bit. im letting it run without the cup so my cup does not overflow. do i just have to wait for the conditioner to dissipate?

I would run it with the cup on to remove what's in the water, try raising it as high as the cup will go, you can also make a drain fitting by drilling a hole in the cup and attaching a piece of tubing to a larger collection container.

I never really ever thought of this but maybe you can buy a aqualifter and set it on a timer to go on for like 1 minute a day and put a tube in the collection cup and a tube in a reservoir. Doesnt really help your problem but its a cool idea

Make a mark on your cup where it was working good and lower the oring to almost the bottom just about the bottom curve

I have a Pro w/Mag3 and have to run mine fairly high

With a Remora it is designed not to overflow.

You don't even need an aqualifter, just let gravity do it.
