Average NSW is 1.0265. However, 1.0250 is excellent because as evaporation occurs, SG raises. You're better off having it rise to 1.026 by using a slightly lower SG than 1.027~1.028.

Most dipping procedures will want you to be fairly close to the SG that is in your tank.

There are methods calling for either hyposalinity or hypersalinity depending on the disease, pest or virus or medications being used.
Both Advanced Aquarist and Reefkeeping Magazine online have many many articles on QT and hospital methods and medications.

Many of your questions have been answered with good info. I did want to reenforce that some corals should not be fresh water dipped. IMO, it's best to use a good product meant for dipping new corals. Tropic Marine Pro Coral Cure has good reviews, I use Medic Coral by Brightwell Aquatics. Most are just an iodine treatment.

Also, something that hasn't been mentioned is that drip acclimation is not good for all fish or corals. IMO, many times, the length of time it takes to do it will stress the fish out even more. Also, IMO, corals just need to be temp acclimated, then you can just add them to your DT or quarantine tank. I've done this many times for acros, montipora, lps and soft corals. There are some more delicate corals that may require adding some tank water slowly to the bag, but just be aware of that.
