im going to do a 240gallon tank next summer with these fish.

    Saddleback Butterflyfish (Chaetodon ephippium)
    Blood Red Hawkfish (Cirrhitops fasciatus)
    Immaculatus Puffer (Arothron immaculatus)
    Powder Brown Tang (Acanthurus japonicus)
    Humu Picasso Triggerfish (Rhinecanthus aculeatus)
    Banana Wrasse (Thalassoma lutescens)
    Pinkface Wrasse (Thalassoma quinquevittatum)

im wondering how long these fish would be ok in a 120gallon tank? the tank is 4x2x2. all the fish will start as small as i can buy them.

From looking at the compability chart and Aquarium Fish: Tropical Freshwater Fish and Saltwater Fish for Home Aquariums Marine Compatability Chart

It would appear that you would want to proceed with caution on the Trigger and the wrasses. Depending on the size and how fast they grow the Powder Tang and Banana Wrasse require a min. of a 125 gallon tank. So you "may" be able to keep them in IF you will have your 240 gal ready.

Looks like the Butterfly, Hawkfish, Puffer and Pink Wrasse would be okay in your tank ..If my memory serves me, they all need at least a 70+ gallon tank.

    Hopefully this will help

move it to the top, lol! A few other favs of mine if I had a FOWLR would be the Yellowtail Coris Wrasse, Dragon Wrasse, Porcupine Puffer, & the Heniochus Butterfly. I am a fan of the Powder Brown Tang though, they can be finnicky eaters.

just go for it, get them as small as possible and put them in the 120, if you are sure you are going to the 220 youll do fine

ya, alot of people that dont get informed on a forum such as this will keep all those fish in a tank smaller than that long term, you can easily do it till next summer the fish will probably only grow at most 2 inches in that time
